Diamond Coat of Youngstown, Ohio

Diamond Coat of Youngstown Blog

Our dealer out of Youngstown is our featured dealer for the month of February. Nicholas Vanoverbeke joined us late last year and is a perfect example of a contractor taking a unique product and making it profitable. As soon as he started experimenting with our products, he became excited about the possibilities and quickly started communicating his desire to become a dealer.

When asking him questions about being a dealer, he was soft spoken, short and to the point. He was most excited about the ability to offer a variety of customers a new product that is completely customizable. Nick’s artistic abilities and bold color choices help him stand out from other dealer candidates, and really complement the diversity that comes with epoxy. He enjoys surprising customers with how easy it is to make a sample that is like nothing they’ve ever seen, and it is a product he can count on to be reliable.

Like most parents, his proudest personal moment was when his daughter was born. His biggest struggle he’s seen with Diamond Coat is that people are still unaware of how innovative the product is, and he has seen some skepticism; something he hopes to improve on, building product awareness. He is very proud of his successful business and the ability to work for himself and make his own hours and team with whomever he chooses.

Nick was asked where he sees his dealership in 5 years. His desire is to completely service Ohio and Pennsylvania. He sees the potential in 5 years for Diamond Coat to become a nationwide service.

Over the weekend, Diamond Coat of Youngstown visited their first home show. After 80 bids, I was able to ask Nick to reflect on the overall experience. Having a 10x10 booth, he had a constant flow of people that wanted information for countertops and other commercial installations. The next step for him is to finalize his new showroom he just moved to. His recommendations are to set up a full countertop or shower display to really showcase the different epoxy products and be able to answer the wide range of questions you will receive.

Visit Nick’s Facebook page to see more of his unique style! And stay tuned for next month when we feature our next dealer!
