What is True Stone

A handcrafted finish that goes over what you already have.

True Stone is Diamond Coat's branded microcement system, a cement, polymer, and mineral pigment coating troweled on in razor thin layers. The result is the warmth and depth of polished concrete, but at a fraction of the weight and without the cracks or expansion joints.

Because it is only 2 to 3 millimeters thick, True Stone bonds directly to tile, drywall, plywood, concrete, and most existing surfaces. That makes it the cleanest way to modernize a kitchen, bathroom, or commercial space without tearing anything out.

We have spent the last 15 years perfecting resurfacing systems. True Stone is the latest addition to the Diamond Coat lineup, and we install it ourselves so the result meets the same standard as everything else we put our name on.

Why Diamond Coat True Stone

Backed by 15+ years of resurfacing expertise.

We have been resurfacing kitchens, garages, and pool decks across 40+ states since long before microcement was trending. True Stone brings that same craft, materials science, and finish quality to one of the most sought after surfaces in modern design.

No demolition

Applies directly over existing surfaces: tile, concrete, drywall, plywood. Keep your subfloor and lose the dumpster.

Seamless and grout free

One continuous surface from floor to wall to counter. Nothing to scrub between, nothing to re caulk.

Custom color matched

Choose from warm putty to deep charcoal, matte to soft sheen. We can color match almost any reference.

Waterproof when sealed

True Stone uses a multi layer sealer system engineered for wet rooms, kitchens, and high traffic floors.

Lightweight

At 2 to 3 mm, True Stone adds almost no load. Perfect for second floor bathrooms and renovations where weight matters.

Installed by our team

True Stone is installed by Diamond Coat directly, or routed to a vetted partner. No anonymous subcontractors.

The process

What to expect, start to finish.

Every True Stone project follows the same four phase process. The exact timing depends on your square footage, substrate, and chosen finish, but the sequence does not change.

For Western Slope projects we typically have a crew on site within two to three weeks of an approved estimate. Out of state projects are scheduled based on travel and crew availability.

Consultation

Tell us about your space. We will walk through colors, finish, scope, and whether your project is a fit for our team or a partner.

Surface prep

We clean, prime, and reinforce the substrate. Existing tile, grout lines, and minor imperfections are bridged before any True Stone goes down.

Application

Two to three thin coats troweled by hand, each cured before the next. This is where the depth, movement, and character come from.

Seal and cure

A multi layer sealer locks in waterproofing, stain resistance, and durability. Most spaces are walkable within 48 hours.

Questions

Everything you need to know.

Most True Stone projects run between REPLACE_ME and REPLACE_ME per square foot installed, depending on surface, prep required, color, and finish. Projects start at $10,000, which typically covers a full bathroom or a mid-size floor. Whole-home and multi-room work is quoted individually. If your project is smaller than that, our epoxy systems are usually the better answer.

Polished concrete is the slab itself, which requires a structural concrete floor and aggressive grinding. True Stone is a 2 to 3 mm coating applied over an existing surface (tile, plywood, drywall, even countertops), giving you the same look without any demolition or structural work.

Yes. When properly sealed with the right primer and topcoat system, True Stone is fully waterproof and is one of the most popular finishes for modern wet rooms and walk in showers. Our team uses a shower rated buildup specifically engineered for wet areas.

True Stone is reinforced with fiberglass mesh during application and contains polymer additives that give it flex traditional cementitious finishes never had. On a properly prepped, stable substrate it resists cracking far better than concrete overlays.

Most residential projects take 3 to 5 days on site: surface prep, two to three coats of True Stone with cure time between, and final sealing. Larger commercial spaces may take longer. The space is typically walkable within 48 hours of the final coat.

We service the entire Western Slope of Colorado in person and travel for projects across the rest of the United States. Submit the form below with your location and we will let you know whether we will install directly or route to a vetted partner.

Day to day cleaning is just a damp mop or microfiber cloth with a pH neutral cleaner. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh acidic cleaners. With normal residential use, the sealer holds up for years. High traffic commercial floors benefit from a fresh topcoat every few years.

True Stone is a professional application material. The trowel technique, layer timing, and sealing system genuinely matter, which is why we install it ourselves. For DIY friendly finishes, see our Diamond Coat epoxy systems.
